You may recognise designers 2LG (aka Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead) from Channel 4’s revival of the much loved Changing Rooms; a home-renovation programme originally broadcast on the BBC between 1996 and 2004.
In the current season, 2LG have made their mark by bringing their passion for design, their signature use of colour and their creativity, into contestants homes and spaces.
Maitland and Poate have a different story; they poured their love for finding antique encaustic tiles during the renovation of their own London home into a full-blown business. The company now works from Jerez de la Frontera, Andalucía.
Together, this 2LG x Maitland and Poate tile collaboration, ‘The Lovely Collection’, is a stunning series of playful designs which will bring light and joy to any designed space.
The handmade ceramic tiles can be used on both walls and floors, and can be laid in striking large-scale motifs, however, they’d also be a great addition to a tabletop – a trend very popular in the interiors world right now.
The only thing I can fault with this tile collaboration is the timing; I’m heart broken these weren’t around when I was tiling my own home. These dreamy tiles would have been perfect!
