The house party: Harry’s (Potters) House

How the devil are you?

Now we’ve kicked off December, I’m resisting the urge to watch Christmas movies and drink nothing but hot chocolate – I’m saving it for my Christmas break. Have you given anything a go yet? I’m racking up quite a big ‘must watch’ list.

It’s been cold and grey the past few days so there’ve been lots of lamps on and candles burning. Lighting plays such an important factor in my mood and I need to stock up on some more candles. I have two favourites, they’re not the most aesthetic candles, but they smell incredible: Yankee’s candy cane and Marks and Spencer’s frankincense and myrrh – I buy these every year without fail.

My husband and I had a trip to Wiltshire and Hampshire at the beginning of the week to see our family, I’d not visited Wiltshire in such a long time and I feel in love with the place – think Romeo and Juliet kinda level.

We had a walk around Laycock and saw where they filmed some of Harry Potter – are you a fan? We’re pretty obsessed (yep, that’s on our ‘must watch’ list too), even though we’re in our late twenties and early thirties.

If you missed last week’s edit then catch up here: The House Party: Anti-Black Friday

The long car journey meant there was a lot of time for podcasts (I wasn’t mad about it); Adam Buxton’s interview with Richard E Grant had us both in floods tears – this is a MUST listen.

Another episode we both really enjoyed was Saturn Returns with Caggie interviewing Melissa Hemsley – such an honest chat about therapy and how women feel like they have an expiry date.

There are a couple of goodies on my wish list this week and I can’t wait to share them with you. I found myself browsing the Rockett St George website for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve also gone crazy for stripes this week, but what’s new there, hey?!

Keep reading for the full list below, happy browsing!
