The house party: walking on sunshine

Right everyone, listen up, I love talking about the weather.

For a long time I worried that talking about the weather made me really boring, but you know what, at least I’m talking.

So here we go: the weather this week has been glorious. Cold, yes, but glorious. The sun has been out and it’s made all the difference so I’m in a pretty jolly mood.

I finished my second book of the year, ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’ by Jennette McCurdy; I won’t talk about it too much as I spoke about it last week and repeating yourself really IS boring (you’ll never come back), but it was as good at the end as it was at the beginning.

If you’re not into reading or don’t have time for it then I’d give Annie Mac’s podcast a listen, she interviews Jeannette McCurdy and it’s equally as insightful as the book.

Speaking of sunshine, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this sunshine yellow mirror from H&M home, how joyful is this? We have a yellow tufted rug one in our kitchen and I feel like this is a mature version of that. I want it quite a lot.

Spring collections are out in full swing now and I’ve been loving following Olivia Rubin on TikTok and eyeing up her latest spring collection. I particularly love this maxi dress; this really would fill you with the joys of spring.

In other Olivia Rubin-ness, I’m debating adding this puffer to my wardrobe; it’s been sitting open on my tabs for a couple of days now – practical, fun and colourful is right up my street.

I’ve been waiting to find the perfect utensil pot and I think I’ve finally found it. I’ve been using an old glass jar and I was considering getting a large Brindisa Perello Gordal Pitted Olives tin like the cool people, but I’m not very cool and this colour has won me over completely.

In order to defrost after our walk on Friday, my partner and I rented ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ on YouTube. It had a rating of 6.2 on IMBD which I think is fair; it’s worth watching for the aesthetics, but the ending was far too elusive and it felt about 30 minutes too long.

Lindsey Isla henderson

Well, that’s all from me this week, I’m off to watch the Empire of Light in the cinema, it was filmed in Margate so I’m super keen to see it. I’ll report back.

Have a great one,
