Shabby, brambly, charming and very very English-cottage wallpapers for your home.
Whether you have your dream cottage in the English countryside or not, you can still have your cottage-core room of dreams with the right kind of wallpaper.
For one reason or another, Cottagecore (coined on Tumblr in 2018) aesthetic has built momentum over the past decade or so.

Its the antithesis of being switched on and plugged in 24/7 – the way most of us feel day-to-day which is what, in my opinion, makes it so popular and desirable.
I can’t help but dream of rolling hills and fields of daisies when I’m on a busy street or a packed train, but since I live in the middle of a town I have to get creative to create the life I want – wallpaper helps me do just that.

Which type of wallpaper is good for eyes?
Muted, soft colours with low contrast are going to be less tiring for your eyes.
Where can I find amazing wallpapers?
The internet is a great resource for finding amazing wallpapers, but sadly it might involve a lot of sample buying and waiting for them to arrive in the post. If you’re stuck for inspiration, Instagram and Pinterest are also a great resource for finding amazing wallpapers.
Some of my favourites are @barnebygates @ottolinedevries and @ellenmerchant
What do you lookout for when buying wallpaper?
Quality is important when you’re buying wallpaper, the higher the quality the less waste there will be when you’re wallpapering so it could end up saving you money in the long run.
The scale of the wallpaper pattern is important; a small room is a great place to use a small, ditsy looking wallpaper and a dining room or bedroom are more suited to a mural.
Lastly, how much do I really love it. I sit with the wallpaper I want for a long time before deciding to go for it as its easy to get sick of patterns and they can go out of fashion quite quickly. You need to know you LOVE it.
What is country cottage style?
Country cottage style is very soft and comfortable. Textiles are a mix of floral patterns, stripes and checks. Sofas will be plush with lots of cushions and blankets, windows will be dressed with curtains rather than blinds and there will be natural wooden furniture.
