Is it just me or is blue furniture everywhere? And I don’t just mean navy, I mean blue-blue. Cobalt blue.

Blue is such a great colour for furniture because, much like black, it’s easy to maintain; you’ll have that ‘just out the box’ look for much longer than a cream sofa, despite how clean and careful you are in your home.

Most people would pair silver or grey with blue furniture since they both have cool undertones, but in my experience, there isn’t a colour I don’t enjoy seeing paired with blue. Some of my favourite blue colour combinations are:

- Pastel blue and pastel green

- Navy blue and gold

As I said before, blue is a very calming colour which can help you relax and that’s what you want to do in your living room, right?! Therefore, it makes a great colour for living room furniture – as well as looking smart, too, of course.

Picking the perfect shade of blue for furniture depends on so many factors: what room is it going to be in? How do you want the space to feel? How much wear and tear is going to take? Are you building a colour scheme around it or is the colour scheme already in place? And so on.
I would go through the questions above, but if in doubt, I’d go for the blue that takes my heartbeat up a notch.
