The House party: The early Riser

Hello Friend!

I’m particularly excited about this week’s catch-up; I’ve got lots to share with you so buckle in, as they say.

The sun is shining today which puts us all in a good mood, doesn’t it? I’ve been able to ditch the tights for the second day in a row – what a win!

My husband and I have been waking up at the crack of dawn lately and hearing the birds song (before the seagulls have a chance to get going) is one of the best parts of my day. Aren’t we (the collective ‘we’) lucky to have birds.

We had breakfast in the garden today…yes, we were wearing coats and two jumpers, but it was worth it.

bookbeat

Over on Instagram, I’ve been recommending Bookbeat, an audiobook app I’ve been glued to lately.

I’ve just finished listening to Paris the Memoir; other than knowing ~of~ Paris Hilton, I knew very little ~about ~ her, but her book is actually so good and not what I expected at all.

If Paris’ memoir isn’t your thing then there are so many other titles on there including Jay Shetty 8 Rules of Love. Click here to get two months free.

The unlikely pilgrimage of harold fry

Talking of audiobooks, one of the first audiobooks I ever listened to (a good couple of years ago now), was The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce so when I heard it’d been adapted into a film I was keen as a bean to see it.

I took my husband and we both sobbed from start to finish; it totally got us in the ‘feels’ – if you think you can handle it then don’t give this one a miss.

Things i’ve bought:

Notebook

A little Margate shout out belongs to ASOBI lifestyle and homeware store which has opened up in the old town (don’t worry if you’re reading this from afar, they’re available to shop online too).

You know when you connect with a song so much you believe it’s written about you? Well, that’s how I feel about this store – I swear everything was made for me.

I got this Wes Andersonesque notebook for my daily journalling practise – isn’t it the most perfect thing you’ve ever seen?

Fluidform Pilates

I’ve started working out at home again; I wanted to do more pilates and do exercise that was a bit kinder to my body, but still had good results. It’s honestly amazing and when I tell you it hurts to cough! My abs have never worked this hard before.
